Testing an electric truck with DORNA in Verona
EFFIMODAL and DORNA SRL are testing a DAF electric truck at Interporto Quadrante Europa in Verona for first- and last-mile legs of our intermodal operations.
EFFIMODAL is taking a meaningful step forward on the way to more sustainable logistics. Together with our long-term partner DORNA SRL, we have started testing a DAF electric truck at the Interporto Quadrante Europa in Verona.
Electric first and last mile
The truck supports both first- and last-mile deliveries within our intermodal operations. In combined transport, the long-distance leg already runs by rail or sea — the road legs at the start and end of the chain are where trucks are still needed. Testing an electric tractor on exactly those short legs around the Verona terminal is a practical way to take the next step in lowering the footprint of the whole door-to-door chain.
Built on a long-term partnership
Our cooperation with DORNA SRL goes back more than three years. Throughout this time it has been built on reliability, trust and a shared mindset for continuous improvement. This pilot is a natural next step — combining operational strength with a clear commitment to greener transport solutions.
Transitioning to low-emission transport is not just about technology. It is about partnerships, people and the willingness to move forward together. Projects like this show how strong collaboration can turn ambition into real, practical change on the ground.
